Oh, Brother

I think having siblings is an important thing and highly underrated. Even if you don't have a brother/sister, I'm sure everyone has someone who fits that role in their life. It could be anyone - a close childhood friend, a confidante.

After the birthday special for Mr. Ninja that last time, it was followed by my brother's birthday the following week so I thought I should dedicate this post to introducing him.

Who else can I talk to when I'm annoyed about something my husband did without any judgement because he knows that everything I say is out of love? Who else can I talk to about something in our shared childhood that has suddenly come back in the news? Who else can I share an incredible laugh with about something that only the two of us understand because of an insider sibling back story?

Well, the comic strip for the week will set an example for better understanding.

Birthday Blues

I know it's been a while..but I had to get back! And no, it's not because I ran out of things to draw (yeah, right!) But stuff happens..whether it's a change in routine, exams, not getting admission in a place you wanted to study or missing your best friend's wedding.

So down to business - this week was Mr. Ninja's birthday week. It never ceases to amuse me how less he gives a damn about his birthday. I don't even bother with surprises anymore - but there will always be my home-made cake. Always.

I guess it's all about perspective. When I told Mr. Ninja to enjoy his birthday he asked me why there should be a reason to celebrate being closer to death (err...sombre, much?). I told him he should be celebrating having lived another eventful year in life. And maybe call his mom because this was the day she popped him out (funny how we forget in the midst of all that cake, that our moms were the ones who went through stuff on our birthdays).

Anyway, another key element of birthdays is age. And the best part is, that is flexible too - depending on your perspective. So this is what we will deal with this week.

Let's watch some TV!

Everyone has their own tastes when it comes to TV shows. Mr. Ninja and I do have our common shows but we don't share too many favourites. He watches 'Game of Thrones' (yeah, yeah I'm not a GoT fan, let's move on) and I watch 'Better Call Saul'; he would sooner watch reruns of 'Suvreen Guggal:Topper of the Year' than watch reruns of 'Who's Line is it anyway?' with me.. you get the picture.

We are generally very sharing people when it comes to the TV remote, but there's always that one time when one has absolutely zero interest in what the other is watching. So that's what we're looking at this week.

P.S. Belated Holi wishes..now you know where I was busy throwing colour.
P.P.S. Pretty sure I watch 'Desperate Housewives' now.

And..we've got merchandise! :)

Sorry about the ‪#‎latergram‬ but couldn't have shared this ‪#‎belated‬ ‪#‎VDay‬‪#‎gift‬ any earlier than this smile emoticon Check out the ‪#‎personalised‬ ‪#‎mug‬ (now a pen stand ) I designed for Mr. Ninja wuhu! ‪#‎BeingMrsNinja‬

I'm not selling these or anything..although if anyone was interested in buying them I probably should have..and saved up for a Wacom tablet or something. He he.

Dude looks like a Lady!

Just because I don't wear dresses very often, doesn't mean that I don't like to. Actually at this point it's more like I'm not wearing them because I'm not getting an occasion to do so, but that's a problem for another day.

Let's be honest, we dress up the way we do because we feel good/comfortable that way. But if someone tells you that you look nice, it's a bonus.

But not for me. Nope, friends' compliments simply won't do and I just have to rise to the self-inflicted challenge to try and get one out of Mr. Ninja. When will you learn, Mrs. Ninja *shakes head*

Where is Ninja?

This is probably my most-used phrase on a day-to-day basis. But I may or may not be the only one using it.

I love surprises but Mr. Ninja is neutral about them (at least as far as I know, he might just surprise me by saying he loves them!) In this sentence alone, I've covered the two kinds of surprises - long term and short term, which are my style and his, respectively.

So yeah, let's talk about that.

Hair Scare

So I was surfing the web today (do people still say that?) and I came across a Fun Hair Fact posted on a general knowledge website for kids. It stated that in humans, facial hair grows faster than any other kind of hair on the body. Anyone else want to run off and grab a pair of tweezers?

XOXO

I think I'm running out of reasons to kiss my husband.

Just kidding! I'll never run out of those (whether he likes it or not)! *grin grin*

ROFLMAO

Like there weren't enough of the office acronyms that I've to keep track of (still barely do; feel like there is something new that keeps coming up), I still get surprised by the occasional non-official short form that Mr.Ninja uses.

But I guess that happens with everyone - different colleges, schools, locations, etc. are what build up your vocabulary in terms of talking, texting and even actions.

This is what happens when I come across some such thing which I don't understand.

And we turn 50!

It's actually nice to start the year with a mile stone..While I had been away on a break (come to think of it, I can't really call it a break, it was more like an event-attending spree) I was still itching to put something up every week - like a mental alarm kept going off in my head every Thursday. A year of a repetitive action does that to you I suppose.

In the meantime, I went through feedback and comments about the first year of Being Mrs. Ninja and decided to follow up on them.

So in a bid to celebrate the 50th strip, a brand new year (not to mention my birthday on Saturday), I present to you the very first Being Mrs. Ninja comic strip of the year 2015 with... surprise, surprise..a dash of colour!
